Right from its inception in 1983 , Kendriya Vidyalaya , Steel plant has become a centre of excellence in the field of Primary , Secondary & Senior-secondary education for the children of the employees of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant . Sponsored by the VISAKHAPATNAM STEEL PLANT (Rashtriya Ispaat Nigam Ltd., Govt. of India) , Kendriya Vidyalaya, Steel Plant is housed in an imposing building over a beautiful landscape of horticultural extravaganza , located in a well secured area of about 25 acres of lush green land .

In affiliation to the CBSE(Central Board of Secondary Education , Govt. of India , New-Delhi) , the co-educational school is well established with all modern facilities like well-designed class-rooms , hi-tech labs. , training programs in Computers , Art & Craft , Music & Dance , Games & Sports and Yoga to impart the specified CBSE curriculum from Class I to XII . The school is run by KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA SANGATHAN (an autonomous organization in the Ministry of Human Resources Development , Govt. of India) , New Delhi.

Our mision

KVS has a four fold mission viz:-

To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including defence and para military personnel by providing a common programme of education.
To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.
To initiate and promote experimentations and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like CBSE, NCERT, etc.
To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
